The Antique Folding Campaign Chair is a one-of-one chairs from HJEM. A beautifully decorative antique folding campaign chair, crafted from ebonised wood with a naturally aged cane seat and backrest. Its tall, elegant silhouette is finished with barley-twist supports, turned finials and an intricately carved floral crest, while the folding frame reflects its original portable design. Campaign chairs were portable, folding seats designed for military officers, colonial officials, and travelers during the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries to provide comfortable seating while on the move Believed to be Anglo-Indian in style and dating from the late Victorian or early 20th century, the chair retains a wonderful timeworn patina, with wear to the painted finish and areas of loss to the cane that add to its authentic character. A striking decorative piece, perfect for adding height, texture and a sense of history to a quiet corner. Please note that due to the age and condition of the cane, this chair is best suited to decorative use.
