A home should
feel like you.
HJEM is an eclectic home store curated by Lainy, selling antique, reclaimed and upcycled furniture and homeware online, and out at markets and pop-ups. It is for people who want a home that feels personal rather than mass-produced.

Welcome to HJEM, an eclectic home store curated by Lainy.
Drawing on a lifelong passion for interior design, every reclaimed, antique and upcycled piece here is handpicked for its beauty and its history. The name comes from the Nordic word for home, and the belief that our spaces should embody individuality and storytelling.
Nothing here is mass-produced. Many pieces are reclaimed or upcycled to celebrate craftsmanship and reduce waste, complemented by carefully selected new designs that prioritise quality and timeless appeal.
Lainy, founderWhat we stand for
Reclaimed first
Old materials carry stories you can’t buy new. We reclaim and upcycle wherever we can. Better for the piece, better for the planet.
One of one
Everything is handpicked, and almost nothing repeats. What you take home, nobody else has. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
Built to keep
Quality and timeless appeal over trends. Pieces that have lasted a century already, chosen to last the next one in your home.

Questions, answered
Where do your pieces come from?
Everywhere with a story: rural France, Scandinavia, Britain, India, China and Thailand. Lainy handpicks each piece for its beauty, history and character; many are reclaimed or upcycled in small British workshops.
Can I see more of a piece before buying?
Yes. Email us about any piece and we’ll send extra photos or a short video within 48 hours, so you know exactly what’s arriving.
Do you deliver?
Yes. UK-wide, arranged per piece so your furniture travels safely. You pay for the piece at checkout and we quote delivery within two working days; nothing is booked or charged until you have seen that figure and agreed. Every delivery is wrapped properly and fully insured.
How much does delivery cost?
It depends on the piece and where you are, so we quote it individually rather than guessing at a flat rate. You pay for the piece at checkout; we confirm the delivery cost with you afterwards, before anything is booked.
What if it doesn’t suit my space?
Cancel within 14 days of it arriving, no reason needed. We refund the piece price and the standard delivery you paid. Sending it back is at your cost; if we collect it we quote first and never charge more than you paid us to deliver it. We’d rather rehome a piece twice than have it sit wrong once.
Are antique pieces sold as perfect?
No, and that’s the point. Every piece is described honestly, wear and repairs included, with close-up photos of anything notable. Marks earned over a century are character, not faults.
Do you offer styling help?
We love this bit. Email photos of your room and we’ll suggest pieces and placements that suit how you actually live.
